Scholarships

Each year we invite students to sit for a scholarship examination prior to the year that they are entering which entitles the highest achievers with Academic Scholarships. On Saturday 4 April 120 future Year 7 2010 and Year 8 2010 students registered and sat for the Scholarship Examination held at La Salle College.

It was with great pleasure that three Year 8 and two Year 7 students were successful in obtaining full scholarships.

YEAR 8 2010
Stephen BEERKENS (Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School)
Emma EDMANDS (Mary’s Mount Primary School)
Hannah RAYE (St Brigid’s Primary School)

YEAR 7 2010
Braden THORNE (Upper Swan Primary School)
Samuel IRELAND (Glen Forrest Primary School)

We also have an Aboriginal Scholarship. Students are required to submit an application and attend an interview. Two full scholarships are usually presented, however with the growing number of scholarship applications two half scholarships and one full scholarship were awarded for Year 7s and four half scholarships were awarded for Year 8 students.

It is with great pleasure that we list these students below.

YEAR 8
Niamh WHITFORD (St Brigid’s Primary School)
Brioni KESTLE (St Brigid’s Primary School)
Azmin TAYLOR (Greenmount Primary School)
Shane PICKETT (Swan View Primary School)

YEAR 7
Wendy KENNEDY (St Michael’s School)
Angeneka BIN RASHID (St Brigid’s Primary School) - Full **
Nikita NINYETTE (St Michael’s School)

The Scholarship entitles the students to either full or half scholarships from Year 7 to 10 and Year 8 to 10. They will be presented with a certificate and will be officially acknowledged to the Lasallian community at our Presentation Night held on Sunday 29 November at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

Applications for the 2011 Academic and Aboriginal Scholarships will be held in approximately March 2010. Details will be published in 2010.
