Benildus House

Named after St. Benildus (Pierre Romancon). House Colour: GOLD

He was born in Thuret, France, on June 14th 1805. He joined the Institute and devoted himself with great zeal to the school apostolate, and in particular to the teaching of Cateschism. He lived in Saugues for 21 years, and had the joy of seeing many vocations develop. He was a model of piety and charity. Endowed with remarkable judgment, he was a counsellor to his Brothers and led pupils and their parents to eternal salvation. He died at Sauges on August 13th 1862. He was beatified by Pius XII on April 4th 1948, and canonised by Pope Paul VI on October 29th 1967. His feast is celebrated by the Church on August 13th. But is sometime moved to January 29th.
