Brigid House

St Brigid of Ireland also known as Mary of the Gael was born in at Faughart, Louth, Ireland in 435. She was a woman of a rare ability and dedication, with an extraordinary sense of spirituality, charity and compassion for those in distress. As Patron Saint of Brigid House, she stands as a model of care and generosity for all, and a witness to her faith. She was dedicated to the service of others. She started convents all over Ireland and was a great traveler, especially considering the conditions of the time, which led to her patronage of travelers, sailors, etc. St Brigid died on 1 February 523 at Kildare. St Brigid’s memorial is 1 February.
