Before coming to Perth for school – three of our current boarding students Mary, Tiarny and Sky attended Ngalangangpum School in Warmun. On the weekend, Ngalangangpum students were visiting Perth on school camp and were invited to participate in a special cultural dance event at Kings Park organised by Warmun Art Centre and Murdoch University. The girls were welcomed by local Noongar dancers with a traditional dance and song from Noongar elders. They danced under the boab tree which was moved from Warmun (Gija Country) in 2008 to make way for new highway. It was a truly memorable experience for Mary Tiarny and Sky!
