The Gift of Role Models in Our Community
At La Salle College, we are blessed with many role models who help shape and guide our young people; teachers, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, foster carers, and mentors who give of their time and encouragement.
In our Catholic tradition, we look to St Joseph as a powerful example of faith, humility, and quiet strength. Though St Joseph lived quietly, his unwavering love and guidance shaped Jesus’ early life and remind us that the most lasting influence often comes from those who lead with humility, faith, and care. In the same way, the positive male figures in our children’s lives often lead by example, teaching resilience, respect, and kindness through their everyday actions.
We also acknowledge that families come in many different forms. Role models can be found in mothers, grandparents, teachers, and community members who step forward to support, guide, and inspire. What matters most is the presence of people who, by their example, instil confidence, hope, and faith in our children.
As a gesture of thanks, the P&F will once again host the much-loved Dad’s Donut Drive Thru on Friday, 5 September during morning drop-off. All male carers are warmly invited to come to receive a small token of appreciation and love (delivered to your car door).
We encourage mums, guardians, and students to remind the dads, grandfathers, uncles, foster carers, and mentors in their lives to come along, share in community spirit, and enjoy a sweet treat as we celebrate the gift of role models in our children’s lives.
May we, like St Joseph, continue to guide our young people with faith, patience, and love, building a community where every child feels supported and uplifted.
