Caversham wildlife park adventures

11 July 2022

In the last week of Term 2 students from our St Joseph’s Education Support Centre took their learning offsite to the Caversham Wildlife Park.

A report by Year 11 students Oakley Matson and Masson Webster

We travelled by bus to Whiteman Park to visit Caversham Wildlife Park.

The first thing we did was get into our groups and walk around to feed the kangaroos.  They were cute and we saw white kangaroos.

After morning tea, we went to watch the farm show.  We saw them shear a sheep, Sam bottle-fed a lamb and we all got the chance to have a go at milking the cow called Minty.

We also got to go and have a photo with the koalas and then watch the penguins get fed. Some of us had a photo with a wombat and got to hold a snake.

We had a walk around with the birds and even saw some dingoes!

After lunch, we went to Molly’s Farm and petted the goats.  We saw all sorts of farm animals like a donkey, ponies and chickens.

We all had a great day and would recommend it to others.
