Technologies have teamed up with our Year 8 students to encourage recycling and fundraising using our school waste.
The Year 11 Certificate II in Engineering Pathways classes are pitching in to make Containers for Change collection bins which will be strategically placed around the College.
Students started the process by cutting out sheet metal using the CNC Plasma Cutter and cleaning up the blanks ready for bending.
Last week students applied the protective finish on the internal of the bins prior to folding into shape. The electromagnetic benders were worked hard to bend the heavy sheet steel cut-outs accurately into their final form, and the joining seams welded and ground flush for a neat finish.
This is a fantastic College initiative – putting our equipment and student skills to use for a good cause.
