La Salle shines at CPAF

7 August 2025

The 36th Catholic Performing Arts Festival (CPAF) has commenced with a stunning Opening Mass at Saint Mary‘s Cathedral.

Our Arts and Music Captains Idella, Shyanne, Liam and Alexander were flag bearers in the ceremony and our liturgical dancers performed a beautiful liturgical movement.

The first event of the festival was the Bible reading at The Chapel of St Michael the Archangel which took place on Friday 25 July. Our two Christian Ministry Captains, Tatukila and Hudson (College Head Boy) and College Head Girl Xeline entered this section. Congratulations to Hudson who placed second in the Speak For Faith final.

Week 2 [ w.c 28 July] of the festival was a whirlwind of talent and achievement! Tuesday saw our Clarinet Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, and Flute Choir wow the audience at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre in Thornlie. That evening, La Salle College proudly hosted the Drama Ensemble Evening.

On Wednesday the Brass Band performed beautifully at Trinity College, showcasing precision and energy. Our Senior and General Percussion Ensembles brought the rhythm to life on Thursday with their dynamic performances. The week also saw De La Dolce perform in their robes, and the College Choir performed in the Sacred Choral section at the stunning St Mary’s Cathedral, filling the space with beautiful harmonies.

Our ensembles are off to a flying start, receiving wonderful feedback from renowned adjudicators in every category. We’re so proud of our students for their dedication and professionalism. It has been an incredible start to the festival, well done to all of the students who proudly represented the College in the festival so far.

CPAF runs from 25 July until 5 September.
