On Friday 18 June, students from our St Joseph Education Support Centre welcomed their families to a Liturgy celebrating the theme ‘Together we are better’.
During the Liturgy, students participated in readings, songs and prayer with the emphasis being on faith and their involvement and connections within the community. Many of our senior students had the opportunity to extend their skills in the community by volunteering at Vinnies to see how a little time can make a big impact in the lives of others.
In the lead up to the event, students helped plan the menu, coordinate invitations, prepare decorations and on the day set up the areas for the Liturgy and morning tea. Around 30 parents attended the morning and had the opportunity to walk through the Centre and see photos and examples of student’s learning, sporting, cultural and service activities across the semester. It was a wonderful event and on behalf of the Education Support team, a warm thank you to all the students and families who made this a memorable morning.
