This week, Year 11 MDT Textiles students were involved in a fashion illustration workshop with commercial fashion illustrator and fashion design lecturer Michelle Pike.

Students enhanced their creativity and illustration techniques with a three-hour creative thought process enhancing design and creative imagination skills. 

Students gained experience in working with watercolour, marker pens and coloured pencils, while designing an outfit for ‘your’ Superhero, Queen or King.

This workshop was aimed at building on the prior knowledge and experience of students, while also introducing new concepts and techniques to experiment with.

Michelle Pike has decades of experience and is one of the most renowned Fashion illustrators in WA and Australia.

The class had such an amazing morning to experiment with design and colour and it was such a delight to have Michelle Pike join us in the creative journey.
