Term 2 marked the very first Inter-House Reading Challenge at the College and it has been nothing short of a success. From Term 2, Week 5 through to early Term 3, students have embraced the opportunity to read for pleasure while earning valuable points for their House.
The enthusiasm across all year levels has been incredible. Students have committed themselves to logging their reading minutes each week, whether through physical books or digital reads via the Sora app, all in the name of House pride. Each minute read has contributed to the growing totals, and the friendly rivalry between Houses has brought a renewed buzz to the i-Centre.
It has also been inspiring to see College staff getting involved, setting an example and contributing their own reading hours to support their Houses. Their participation has made this a true whole-school initiative, building a strong sense of community and shared purpose.
A standout feature of the challenge has been the stunning display in the i-Centre, which has celebrated students’ efforts, tracked House progress and provided reading recommendations. The display has become a lively, engaging space where students can track the competition and be inspired by the success of others.
As the challenge draws closer to the finish line, it is still anyone’s game. The commitment and passion shown during this first ever event has set a high standard for future competitions. We look forward to celebrating all participants and announcing the winning House at the end of Week 5.
Well done to all involved and keep reading!
