La Salle College invites parents and carers to come along and learn about cyber safety on Tuesday 23 March 2021 from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Mr Paul Litherland, who served as a WA Police Officer for 20 years and has been a member of the Technology Crime Investigation Unit, will provide an insight into the dangers of the online world and importantly what children can do to protect themselves and the role parents play..
During his presentation, Paul will cover the following topics:
- Where students are going online and the risks they are taking on the internet.
- How to minimise an online footprint and what parents and students can do to minimise risk.
- The most popular social networking apps teenagers are using and the pros and cons of these.
- The risks students are being exposed to in the world of online gaming.
- The risks of sharing intimate images.
- Device security and protection.
