Library Lovers’ Day is celebrated internationally on 14 February. First celebrated in 2006 by the State Library of New South Wales, it has grown in popularity and has become a global phenomenon.
A day to recognise library staff, library patrons and the wider library loving community, the iCentre acknowledged the day with an eye-catching display. This year the students were able to participate in creating a wish list for the iCentre. Many of their suggestions to enhance the collection and the activities already offered in the iCentre were very thoughtful and will assist in creating an even more dynamic library experience.
Libraries offer more than access to information and resources. They also support literacy, lifelong learning and create a space that promotes wellbeing. The iCentre is no different, and it is a vibrant hub that is enjoyed by many in the Lasallian community.
