The 2026 Melbourne Music Tour proved to be an unforgettable experience for La Salle College’s touring musicians, providing eight days of outstanding performance opportunities, musical learning and personal growth.

After months of dedicated rehearsals, performances and preparation, students travelled to Melbourne where they performed at a range of public venues, participated in workshops with industry professionals, took part in recording and music technology sessions, attended rehearsal exchanges, and experienced professional opera and musical theatre productions.

The carefully planned itinerary also allowed students to explore Melbourne’s renowned arts precincts and immerse themselves in one of Australia’s cultural capitals. While the performances were undoubtedly a highlight, the tour offered much more than music. Students developed confidence, resilience and independence as they travelled together, managed the demands of a busy performance schedule and represented La Salle College with maturity, professionalism and pride at every venue they visited.

The Melbourne Music Tour was the culmination of more than six months of preparation, including weekly rehearsals, Sunday rehearsals, music camps and the Tour Preview Concert. The exceptional standard of every performance reflected the commitment and dedication shown by both students and staff throughout the semester.

The College extends its sincere thanks to the Music staff, instrumental tutors, College leadership, parent volunteers and families whose support made this opportunity possible.

The Melbourne Music Tour was a fitting celebration of the strength of the La Salle College Music Program and provided memories, friendships and experiences that our students will carry with them for years to come.
