On Thursday 6 May our Year 11 students hosted their mothers and other significant women in their lives at our annual Mother’s Day liturgy and breakfast. In the liturgy we thanked God for the blessing that our mothers and other women are in our lives. We also took time to pray that God would continue to bless all mothers and help them to flourish in their vocation to parenthood and in every area of their lives.
Finally, this was an opportunity to recognise that the feminine spirit reveals to us an important aspect of God’s nature, as St Julian of Norwich, a 14th century Nun said:
“As truly as God is our Father, so truly is God our Mother”.
Following the liturgy the students shared breakfast with their mothers and other significant woman in their lives in the College staff centre. This was a wonderful celebration and fruitful chance to nurture the bonds we have with the important women in our lives.
