We have been privileged to be able to place our students on centre stage over the last month.
Our College Assembly in Week One allowed us to celebrate our high achievers both academically and in the sporting field. Many students have already performed and some are yet to show their talent and hard work through Catholic Performing Arts. We also had the opportunity to acknowledge those students who consistently give their best effort, attitude and behaviour. Knowing that students cannot always finish first in a race or achieve the top grade we look to celebrate those students who choose to always give their best.
Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
It can be difficult to see an end goal when you are just starting out or after many attempts at mastering a skill and not achieving it. But when we work hard or train well and put our best efforts into a task, how can that not be enough? God knows we are human and will at times fall or fail but He never gives up on us.
When the weather is wet and we don’t want to train or play, when the concept is hard and we’ve already tried so many times and failed, and when we are scared to put our best performance on show to an audience, it takes courage to stand up, to embrace the challenge, to rally your mates to try again or brave the stage. However, it is the face you see in the mirror each day that you answer to, one that can hold their head high when you have done your best, that truly matters.
See yourself in excellence and it will be enough.
