Principal’s Message

21 October 2024

Dear Families and Friends,

Welcome to Term 4! It’s incredible how quickly the year has progressed, and now we find ourselves in the final academic term. With many events approaching, I encourage families to stay updated with our College calendar to help plan for the busy weeks ahead.

One of the most significant events of this term was the Year 12 Graduation, held on Tuesday, 15 October 2024. This moment is always a mix of joy and reflection for me. It’s a privilege to witness our students grow—not just academically but also in character, wisdom, and spirit. The Class of 2024 has left a lasting legacy at La Salle College through their contributions, their achievements, and the support they’ve offered one another. Moments like this remind me of the strength and unity of our community.

In farewelling our graduates, I shared a reflection from Carlo Acutis, who once said:

“Everyone is born as an original, but many die as photocopies.”

Carlo recognised the pressures young people face to conform, to follow trends, and to chase after what society defines as success. Yet he chose to live authentically, driven by his faith and his unique gifts. His words remind all of us—students and adults alike—that we each have the potential to make a lasting impact on the world by embracing our talents and pursuing our purpose with courage.

As we look back on the achievements of the Class of 2024, I want to extend my deepest thanks to the staff and P & F volunteers, who worked tirelessly to make the Year 12 Graduation Liturgy and Ceremony such a memorable occasion. My gratitude also goes to the parents and family members who attended to witness this important milestone in their child’s life.

As we bid farewell to the Class of 2024, we do so with great pride and hope for their futures. They have truly embodied the spirit of La Salle, embracing their individuality, supporting one another, and striving to leave a meaningful mark. As they step into the next chapter of their lives, we are confident they will continue to shine, using their unique gifts to make a positive difference. Our prayers and blessings go with them as they embrace new challenges and opportunities in a world that needs their light.

God Bless!
