Dear families and friends
The beginning of a new school year is like planting a seedling. We carefully prepare the soil before planting to ensure that the seedling has the best opportunity for growth. When we place a young seedling in the soil, we do so with hopeāhope that it will take root, grow strong, and eventually bear fruit. In much the same way, the start of the school year is a time of new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and limitless potential for growth.
For our young people, this year is a chance to set new goals, embrace challenges, and develop their talents. Some may feel uncertain, just as a young seedling faces the elements, but they will flourish with the right care, guidance, and perseverance. Teachers, families, and friends are like the sunlight and raināoffering encouragement, support, and nourishment.
Over the past four weeks, we have seen wonderful examples of growth and achievement. Our Year 7 students have settled in well, forging new friendships and adjusting to the rhythm of high school life.Ā Our senior students have embraced their leadership roles with enthusiasm, guiding and supporting their peers.Ā The College community gathered to celebrate our Opening Mass, a beautiful reminder of our shared faith and commitment to one another. In the classroom, on the sports fields, and through service initiatives, students have taken advantage of opportunities to challenge themselves and make a difference.
Additionally, our Year 12 students danced the night away at their ball, celebrating their friendship and journey together. Our St Joseph Centre students also participated in the ACC Inclusive Beach Carnival, an event that fostered participation, enjoyment, and community spirit, resulting in a truly memorable day. Meanwhile, the students involved in our upcoming production of Oliver attended Production Camp, working hard to develop their skills and demonstrating their commitment to bringing this wonderful musical to life.Ā
Just as a seedling needs strong roots to grow tall, our students need a solid foundation built on faith, hard work, and resilience. As a Lasallian school, we are blessed with a community that values excellence, service, and faith. These values will shape the way we learn, work together, and strive to be the best versions of ourselves.
Throughout this year, we will encounter moments of great success as well as times when challenges arise. However, every experienceāwhether a triumph or a setbackācontributes to the richness of our growth. As a community, I ask you to care for one another, ensuring that everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
God Bless!
