Density rainbow

1 June 2022

Our Year 11 /12 Education Support students have been participating in science on an alternative time table.

Students are investigating diffusion and density making a density rainbow column with different concentrations of sugar solution.

The chocolate m and m activity demonstrated diffusion of the colours as the colouring dissolved in the water to make rainbow pie!

Mr Hughes taught us about colours and water. I liked that we used M and Ms and it made different shapes” Luke Gomez.

We made a rainbow in a dish with M & M’s and added sugar to water,
Tabitha Keevers.

We mixed milk with vinegar, it smelt funny. Then we mixed it together in a beaker. It was fun trying something new, Isla Reynolds.

As you can see from the photos the students enjoyed the learning activity.
