On Wednesday 9 April, the Nicolas Barre Auditorium was filled with the sounds of creativity and celebration as La Salle College hosted its annual Senior Music Soirée.
This special event provided a platform for students in Years 10 to 12 to showcase their musical growth through a wide variety of solo and small ensemble performances. The program reflected a diverse range of styles, from classical and jazz to contemporary and popular music, demonstrating the technical development, musical maturity, and expressive confidence of each performer.
Many of the evening’s performers are currently studying Music as a subject or are active members of the College’s ensemble program, with several students presenting pieces as part of their formal assessment.
The Soirée also served as a valuable performance assessment for many Year 10 students, and a capstone experience for our senior performers. The event was expertly compered by Music and Arts Captains Alex Dwyer and Idella Rapps, with technical support provided by Music and Arts Captains Liam Smith and Shyanne Dienhoff.
Director of Music, Ms Samantha Ashman, expressed her pride in the students’ achievements and thanked the instrumental staff, music tutors, and College community for their unwavering support. Special acknowledgements were extended to families and audience members whose presence contributed to the uplifting atmosphere of the night.
Soirée 2025 was a true celebration of student dedication and musical expression, highlighting the rich talent within the La Salle College Music Program. Congratulations to all performers for a memorable and inspiring evening.
