Our Year 11 Textiles students were given a design brief to make a play suit. Students had to choose a theme, such as boho, tropical or floral to inspire their design and fabric choices.
They had to make pattern alterations from a commercial pattern to their final design. The results – a range of linen looks and summer play suits to suit the beach or a celebration over our hot summer months. Students showed great application of their skills including pleats, pockets, invisible zippers, bias binding, darts, hand sewing and overlocking in their creation.
On Friday 17 September at Forrest Place students had the opportunity to model their designs as part of the Catholic Education Spirit of the Arts Festival Carnevale. It was a fantastic event with nine students representing the College alongside Holy Cross College.
