Matilda Wilkins (Year 9) and Melissa Edwards (Year 10) recently competed in the 2023 Equestrian WA (EWA) State Interschool Championships held at State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon between Wednesday 19 April and Saturday 22 April. The EWA State Interschools Championship allows school-aged children to represent their schools in a sport that is not offered in the education system. The Championships are used as a selection event for the National Championships held later this year.

Matilda – 1st

Special mention to Matilda who won the Championship class and has been invited to represent Western Australia at the Australian Interschool Championships to be held later in the year in Sydney.

First Place Show Horse Secondary Intermediate at the 2023 Saddle Plus Interschool WA State Championship on my Classic Image Of Sefton.  Nick is my absolute dream pony, and I am so lucky to have such an amazing pony that makes me so happy. My love for him grows more and more each day. My love for horse riding continues to grow each day and it has given me so many great opportunities that I am so thankful for. It’s always been a dream of mine to represent WA at the Australian nationals, I really didn’t think that it would happen so soon only being a new partnership but to say that I am so incredibly proud of Nick and this achievement is an understatement. My future goals for Classic Image of Sefton would be to win a Large Show Galloway Class (EWA, SHC), the Royal Show and a Child's Large Show Galloway Class (EWA, SHC). This really has been an amazing experience and I really can’t explain enough how happy I am!

State Senior League Baseball Champs

Congratulations to Adam Taylor and George Calverley (Year 10) along with their Eastern Phantoms teammates who took out the 2023 State Senior League Baseball Championship in April. This achievement has earnt them the opportunity to compete at the upcoming 2023 Australian Championship from 8 to 12 May with the winner from this tournament being invited to the Senior League World Series in America in July.

3 x Gold medals in National Synchronised Swimming

Ruby Kingma (Year 8) competed in the Nationals for Synchronised Swimming held in Perth over the Easter break. All states around Australia as well as New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong were represented.

Ruby won three gold medals for her national team routine, international team routine and national combo routine.
