Wellbeing at La Salle College

24 June 2025

At La Salle College, mental health and wellbeing are a year-round focus.

As an Act Belong Commit school, this framework guides all our wellbeing initiatives, encouraging students to stay active, connected, and engaged. In 2025, we strengthened this commitment by introducing a dedicated mental health day each term to promote greater awareness and involvement across the College community.

In Term we celebrated Harmony Day, highlighting our school’s cultural diversity. Students wore orange and took part in a cultural activity, sharing stories and traditions during a vibrant lunchtime event.

In Term 2 our Mental Health Awareness Day featured purple accessories and a lunchtime fair where students connected with local support services. This term also included a poster competition themed “Calm Your Mind”, encouraging students to share creative coping strategies for their wellbeing.

Looking ahead to Term 3, we are excited to be celebrating R U OK? Day, a meaningful opportunity for the community to reflect on the importance of connection and checking in with others.

The La Salle Counselling Team and our Year 12 Wellbeing Captains are proud of the strong participation so far and remain committed to supporting every student’s wellbeing. Parents and students can contact the team via the counsellor’s referral form available on SEQTA or via email at [email protected].
