In Week 9 of Term 1, all Year 12 ATAR English and Literature students experienced a day in the life of a university student at Curtin University.
Students attended five lectures across the day, on topics such as skill development for essays and comprehension, syllabus content of voice and perspective, and text types such as film and narrative non-fiction. Curtin University lecturers and teachers from a variety of schools presented to the students, who were able to ask questions to clarify their learning.
All students received an invaluable set of notes to aid them in their preparation for their upcoming WACE exams. The excursion provided a wonderful opportunity for students to exercise their flexibility as they took a day out of their normal routine to get a taste of what next year might look like for them as they embark on their post school journey.
