Year 7 Camp Experience

18 February 2025

The Year 7 Experience, held at the end of week 2, not only acts to strengthen student connection and sense of community, both within Houses and as a cohort, but acts as a celebration of the fantastic progress the Year 7 students have made in transitioning to high school at La Salle College.

The students enthusiastically participated in activities and sessions that focused on fostering connection, courage, engagement, and flexibility. The experience included an overnight camp element at Woodman Point, where students engaged in archery, beach games, team-building challenges, and reflection exercises. These activities encourage students to work collaboratively and develop problem-solving skills, in a fun and supportive environment.

Back at the College, all students participated in an activity day, exploring exactly what it means to be Lasallian. The students also had the opportunity to participate in leadership and Touching Hearts sessions and a wellbeing workshop.

Through these experiences, students have been able to build a strong sense of belonging as they form friendships, based on trust and positive support for one another. The combination of outdoor adventure and activity, as well as reflective learning encourages students to have the courage to try new things, the flexibility to navigate change, and the engagement needed to embrace their learning journey with enthusiasm.

I hope you enjoy the photos below which provide a small window into the amazing adventures experienced by your child on Year 7 Camp.
