College Awards Evening

28 November 2023

Our school community gathered on Tuesday 28th November to celebrate and recognise our students at the College Awards Evening.

The event was an evening of excellence that celebrated achievements, contributions, efforts and leadership of our students through academics, faith, service, culture, sports and the arts.

Special mention to our high academic achievers:

The Vocational Education Training Dux Award is presented to the highest ranked student studying a vocational pathway in Year 12. This year’s recipient was Haylee Mooney.

Proxime Accessit is Latin for ‘closest to the top’, and is awarded to the second highest ranked student, studying courses that lead to achieving an ATAR score in Year 12. This year it was awarded to Sienna Croft.

The Dux Award is the most prestigious academic award recognising the highest ranked student studying courses that lead to achieving an ATAR score in Year 12. The Dux of the College for 2023 is Tamiya Mosbergen-Smith.

This year the theme of the event was ‘building new paths to transform lives’. We know all of our students will go on to achieve great things and we look forward to seeing what their futures hold.

A number of performances were showcased by the students, including two spectacular musical items from The Showband, playing ‘Watermelon Man’ and Toto’s ‘Africa’. The College Choir also gave a wonderful performance of ‘Sisi Ni Moja’.

De La Dance ended the night of celebration with an amazing performance to ‘You’ve Got the Love’ by Florence and the Machine.

Congratulations to all award recipients, those who performed and all students who achieved a personal best this year.

Thank you to everyone that attended the event!
