La Salle College has recently been successful in securing Healthy Schools Program funding from Healthway to address the community health issue of vaping.
Healthway works in partnership with Western Australian schools to build a healthy and more active WA. The Healthy Schools Program aims to support schools to develop projects that promote the health of students through activities aligned with the Health Promoting Schools Framework.
La Salle College is deeply concerned with the rising trends of the use of e-cigarettes within the wider community and the harmful effects that vaping can have on young people.
Whilst parents are the first educators of their children, schools are able to support families by providing targeted education around the dangers of vaping to support and encourage healthier behaviours amongst our young people.
The Healthy Schools Program funding will assist the College in implementing a range of educational activities across Semester 2, 2023.
