Lasallian alumni Aaron Haji-Ali and Zoe Sparkes were recently commissioned as teachers at St Mary’s Broome. The commissioning brought together a Lasallian reunion as former College student, Principal and now CEWA Executive Director, Wayne Bull and former Principal Brother Berkeley Fitzhardinge were also at the event.
This year Zoe is teaching a Year 4 class and in an interview with CEWA said this:
“My education at La Salle College heavily influenced my decision to come back to CEWA and particularly to the Kimberley to continue my teaching journey… giving back now as a teacher at St Mary’s College Broome really highlights giving back to the community as I am whole heartily devoted to my students and improving their education and faith.”
Aaron will be teaching Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Religion and in an interview with CEWA said this:
“Having been born in Broome and with family connections there, working in the Kimberley was always a goal… he intends to utilise as much local knowledge to ensure that students are engaging in meaningful tasks that are both relevant and important.”
We wish Zoe and Aaron all the best as they begin their new teaching adventures at St Mary’s Broome.
