Inspired by student voice to create a safe and respectful space to share stories and teach culture, La Salle College is proud to share that our ‘Let’s have a Yarn’ project, for the creation of our Yarning Circle, was awarded a Merit Award (Runner-up) in the Catholic Education Western Australia QCE Awards in the Community student-led category. We are delighted to receive this acknowledgement and we celebrate all the great projects showcased from various Catholic Schools as part of these awards.
Special thanks to Ms Kristy Meyers, who gave our students agency to think about this initiative, create a proposal and work with key staff like Ms Beth Farmer to make their ideas a reality. A real-life learning experience for our students that has been acknowledged not only by our community but the CEWA judging panel.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the ‘Let’s have a Yarn’ project we are extremely proud of this project recognition.
