Dear Families and Friends, 

The College’s Presentation Evening held on Friday 26 November 2021 was a highlight for the year.  I would like to acknowledge all of the students who received awards on the evening. It is important as a College that we recognise the hard work of our dedicated students who aspire for excellence.  

The night would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of many staff.  I must also commend all performers for their commitment and dedication to the evening.  I am most appreciative of the many hours they gave to rehearsals, with the support of their families, to ensure a successful outcome.   

2022 College Advisory Council 

The Annual College Community meeting  was held on Monday 25 November, during which the College Advisory Council was elected.  The Advisory Council Members for 2022 are Mrs Stacey Jackson, Mr Darren Di Cera, Mrs Carla Turner, Mr Glenn Stroud, Mrs Sherilynn Shaw-Mills and Mrs Emma Chessel-Keevers.  As part of the evening the 2022 College Fees were presented to those in attendance, along with the Principal’s and Chair’s Reports.   The 2022 College Fees can be found on our website 

I would like to thank all members of the 2021 College Advisory Council for their generosity and passion for contributing to maintaining and enhancing the work of La Salle College.  I would like to  make special mention of Mr Fred Vitulano and Mrs Renee Bowell who have completed their term on the Advisory Council.  I am also indebted to Br Garry Coyte for supporting the Council through his understanding of the Lasallian mission.  

Carols by Candlelight 

As we prepare to celebrate and rejoice in the joy and peace that comes with the special feast of Christmas, it was a delight to welcome so many community members to our La Salle College Carols by Candlelight on Friday 10 December 2021.  Our talented College musicians and singers were joined by the beautiful voices of students from Good Shepherd Catholic School, Lockridge and St Anthony’s School, Greenmount.  The evening was certainly a celebration of hope, joy and Christmas goodwill. It was wonderful to see so many of our families future, past and present singing and enjoying the evening.  I would particularly like to thank Mr Chris Milne, our Director of Music for his overall co-ordination of the evening, Ms Maddison Moulin and Mr Graeme Bell for their support of the evening and to the wonderful Friends of La Salle Music for their support and fundraising on the evening.  

Farewell Mr Elloy 

At our College Presentation Evening I had the privilege of acknowledging the outstanding service of Mr Peter Elloy to a resounding standing ovation. Over the last 50 years Mr Elloy has been part of the miracle of La Salle College, Middle Swan. He has embodied the vision, shared his gifts and laid the foundation of the future for many within our community. His legacy and connection to La Salle will be forever etched in the hearts, minds and lives of the students, families and staff who are blessed to have been part of his time at the College.  

 On behalf of the College community, I sincerely thank Mr Elloy for his wonderful service to the College during the last 50 years.  We will miss his presence, his kindness and his wisdom but as a community we pray for God’s blessing on him as he begins his retirement.

 Christmas Blessings 

As this is the final Delagram of the year, I wish all of our families every blessing and hope that the joy and optimism that has come from the birth of our Saviour will live on in your home. It is important that we enjoy the time shared with family and friends and that we express gratitude to our Lord for these gifts and blessings. 

For those families who are leaving us at the end of this year, thank you for entrusting your child to La Salle College. It has been a privilege to work with you. 

May Christ’s Peace and Joy be with each of you and with your loved ones.
