The College’s Presentation Evening held on Friday 25 November 2022 was a highlight for the year. I would like to acknowledge all the students who received awards on the evening. It is important as a College that we recognise the hard work of our dedicated students who aspire for excellence. The night would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of many staff. I must also commend all performers for their commitment and dedication to the evening. I am most appreciative of the many hours they gave to rehearsals, with the support of their families to ensure a wonderful evening.
2022 Annual College Community Meeting
The Annual College Community meeting was held on Wednesday 30 November 2022. As part of the evening the 2023 College Fees were presented to those in attendance, along with the Principal’s and Chair’s Report. The 2023 College Fees can be found on our website.
I would like to thank all members of the College Advisory Council: Mrs Stacey Jackson, Mrs Carla Turner, Mr Darren Di Cera, Mr Glenn Stroud, Mrs Sherilynn Shaw-Mills and Mrs Emma Chessel-Keevers for their generosity and passion for contributing to maintaining and enhancing the work of La Salle College. I am also indebted to Br Garry Coyte for his continued support of the Advisory Council and the College.
Carols by Candlelight
As we prepare to celebrate and rejoice in the joy and peace that comes with the special feast of Christmas, I welcome our community to the La Salle College Annual Carols by Candlelight on Friday 9 December 2022, commencing at 6.30pm with gates open from 5.00pm. This evening allows our community to come together with our families and rejoice in the hope that comes with the birth of Jesus. Please add your voices to this celebration of hope, joy and Christmas goodwill. Bring a picnic or support the fundraising efforts of our Parents and Friends Committee, who have organised food and drink vans for the evening as well as many raffles. Prizes will also be awarded to the best dressed Christmas Carols participant. Don’t forget your gold coin on entry to support those in need through Vinnies and the Archbishop’s Lifelink Appeal.
Christmas Blessings
On behalf of the College, I would like to wish all of the students, families and staff within our community a happy and holy Christmas. I hope that you get the opportunity to share the real message of Christmas – that it is a time of joy and an opportunity for reflection and relationship building. We pray that the gentle humility with which Jesus came into the world will serve as an example and inspiration for all people. May His peace and love characterise your festive season. As is always the case at the end of the school year, we have a number of students and staff who will be leaving our College community in order to follow different pathways. To those who are leaving us, you do so with our best wishes and many blessings. Good luck into next year and we trust that some of the Lasallian spirit goes with you.
To all within our community, I extend many prayers and wish you a Happy and Holy Christmas as we look forward to a wonderful 2023.
I hope that everyone is able to enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday break
