As we reach the final weeks of the school year, our hearts turn toward our Year 12 students—young people who have walked the long road of secondary education and now stand at the threshold of something new. Graduation is not just a ceremony; it is a sacred moment of transition, a time to honour the journey and bless the road ahead.Â
This year, as I’ve watched our students grow, I’ve been reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 16:24:
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
These words are not easy. They speak of commitment, sacrifice, and purpose. But they also speak of transformation. At La Salle College, our Vision for Learning—Transforming tomorrow’s hearts, minds, lives—is not just a slogan. It is a call to action. It is the invitation we extend to every student who walks through our gates: to become more than they imagined, to live with courage, and to serve with love.
Our Year 12s have embraced this vision in countless ways. They have shown Courage in facing exams, uncertainty, and change. They have built Connection through friendships, leadership, and service. They have demonstrated Engagement in their learning, their faith, and their community. And they have shown Flexibility—adapting to challenges, growing through setbacks, and remaining open to new possibilities.
To the parents and caregivers: thank you. Your support, patience, and love have been the steady foundation beneath your child’s journey. You have walked beside them through the “first few miles,” the “middle miles,” and even “the wall”—those moments when it all felt too hard. Now, as the finish line comes into view, we celebrate with you.
To our graduates: you are ready. You have been shaped by faith, strengthened by community, and prepared to follow Christ into the world. As you take up your cross—whatever that may look like—know that you do not walk alone. You walk with the prayers of your teachers, the love of your families, and the presence of God.
Congratulations, Class of 2025. May your hearts be open, your minds be curious, and your lives be transformed.
God Bless,
