Our Year 11 MDT Textiles class has been learning about textiles, recycling and the Three R’s: reduce, re-use and recycle. As an introductory task, students design and produce a textile item using the principle of the Three R’s. Finished products ranged from hair accessories, bucket hats, make-up cases, bags and a dog blanket. The items were made from recycled materials such as old dance costumes, an old towel and fabric remnants. It is wonderful to see our students giving a new life to old items.
