Sacraments

14 March 2022

Sacraments are signs established by Christ that cause what they signify. They heal us when we need it and plant, nourish or restore the life of grace in us. The Sacraments are so important because they make the power of Jesus present to us so that we can live the full life God has planned for us.

By these seven channels of grace, God adopts us as children and increases life within us.  The Seven Sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian’s life of Faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life.

Families interested in having their children prepare for and celebrate the sacraments (First Communion, Confirmation or baptism) please contact your nearest parish.

In particular, St Brigid’s Parish in Midland is currently planning for their sacrament classes.

You can find the contact details for all our local parishes on the Parent Hub under the Faith and Community tile and via this document link: Local-Parish-Information.
