Spreading Christmas Cheer

11 December 2020

The last week of term for the Year 10 Textiles, Childcare and Home Economics students was certainly a busy one as they sought to bring joy to many in the community.

Students along with their teachers Ms Amy Griffiths, Ms Ruth Payne and Ms Kristy Meyers worked on creating Christmas cakes, care packages and decorations to be donated to those in need this holiday season.

The generosity of our students was heart-warming. Students made and packaged 42 Christmas cakes, each one accompanied by a hand written card from the student. Along with the Christmas bunting that students made, we gave the gifts to the elderly residents at Tuohy Nursing Home who received it with much love.

The Childcare students also prepared six care packages for Stan and Jean Perron Child Advocacy Centre in Midland and five packages for Care Bags for Kids, an agency that provides foster children the necessities when taken into emergency accommodation.

The kindness and generosity that our amazing Year 10s have shown is out of this world. We are so proud of what they have done to touch hearts and bring the Christmas spirit to those in need!
