Support Services Available

5 December 2023

As we move into the holiday period, there may be times when you or your children may be needing support. Changes to the regular “school” routine can be hard for some young people and they may experience a range of emotions such as sadness, stress or loneliness.

During the holidays we encourage you to check in / talk with your child. It can be helpful to let them know that you are available to speak with them if they ever need to. You may also encourage them to stay connected with friends and family, look after their physical health and engage in activities they enjoy.

The following support lines are available for young people:
  • Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Crisis Connect: 1800 048 636
  • Lifeline: 13 11 14
  • Beyond Blue: 1300 555 788
  • 1800 RESPECT: 1800 737 732

If you have concerns about your child’s mental health, it’s advisable to discuss them with their General Practitioner.

You can find more information on accessing mental health support outside of school through this link.

Wishing you all an enjoyable, safe and relaxing school holidays.
