In Week 4 of Term 2 the Careers team introduced 15 Year 10 students into the world of Building and Construction through the three day Try a Trade program at North Metro TAFE Balga Campus.

Each day students had the opportunity to try their hand at a range of trades including bricklaying, plastering and tiling.

The aim of this program is to expose students to the various trades within the Building and Construction Industry that can lead into Pre-apprenticeship pathways later in their educational journey.

The students all participated with enthusiasm and did a great job listening to instructions and taking learning the different skills for each activity.

A big thank you to staff Lisa Hunt, Fiona Stankevicius and to lecturers – Dom, Ron and Enzo at North Metro TAFE for their guidance and expertise.
