Our Year 10, 11 and 12 Mock Trials team members attended an excursion to the Perth Courts as part of the Francis Burt Law Education Program on Thursday, 30 March 2023.
Students were taken on a guided tour of the Supreme Court where they sat in on a District Court trial and participated in a mock trial. It was a fantastic experience for all the students involved, who got a very real sense of how the Western Australian Justice system works and a first-hand understanding of our legal system.
“Going on the Mock Trials Excursion this year was an eye-opening experience into the world of law. It allowed us to experience a real-life court case and learn each role in the courtroom.” Riley Marshall
“The excursion was an awesome experience, and it gave me and the rest of the mock trial team members to further our exploration of law. It was good to experience a court in session, and that was highly valuable and interesting. It was also very important for the younger mock trial members who are new to the team, to experience it, and envision what they will be doing later.” Jasmin Allison
