Over the past few weeks our Arts students have been busy performing at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.
Our Arts and Music Captains represented the College at the Welcome Mass to kick off the Festival. During the first week our Flute Choir, Clarinet Ensemble and Saxophone Ensemble all performed at the Don Russel Performing Arts Centre with our Brass Band taking to the stage on Wednesday to wow the audience with the Can-Can at Trinity College.
Rounding off Week 2 of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival was a moving performance by the College Choir and De La Dolce voices at St Mary’s Cathedral. The senior percussion ensemble also put on an exciting, synchronised performance at Trinity College earlier in the day.
In Week 3 of the Festival, the Liturgical Dance ensemble travelled to Mercy College to perform in the Christian Dance section. The students earned a perfect score, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and reverence in their performance dedicated to Romans 12:2. A special mention goes to Mrs Van Der Westhuizen for the outstanding costumes. Congratulations to the Liturgical Dance ensemble on their remarkable achievement!
The Cert III Band rocked the stage at Sacred Heart College on Friday night with their rendition of the 1980s Lovecats and the popular Uptown Funk. They looked funky fresh in their matching shades and ties!
Hudson (Yr 11) participated in the “Speak for Faith” public speaking competition at CEWA which is run in conjunction with the Catenian Association. Hudson delivered a speech addressing how God’s existence can be revealed today through natural, full and divine revelation. His performance secured him a place in the final which will take place on Saturday 10 August, we wish him the best of luck!
With more performances to come we are looking forward to seeing the amazing talents of our students over the final few weeks of the Festival.
