Principal’s Message

8 May 2026

Last week, the College celebrated Mothers’ Day with a liturgy for the mothers of our Year 11 students, followed by breakfast in the staff room. It was wonderful to see so many mums taking time from their busy schedules to spend the morning with us. During my address, I noted that the day was for all woman who take on caring roles of our students, including stepmothers, foster mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and sisters, to name a few. I hope all our ‘mums’ were spoiled on their special day and enjoyed the liturgy.

My thanks to Mrs Marian McGrath, our Director of Catholic Identity and Mission, Mrs Tanya Manning, our Leader of Wellbeing – Year 11, our choir, and all other staff who helped to ensure the morning was a great success.

Athletics Carnival

My thanks go to all staff, and especially Mr Riley Milligan our College Sports Coordinator along with the Health and Physical Education Learning Area, for organising our Interhouse Athletics Carnival. It was a fantastic event, and it was great to see so many of our students competing for their Houses and enjoying the day. Congratulations to all our students who tried their best, regardless of where they finished in an event. For me, the most important thing is that you try your best. Well done to everyone.

Music Camp

At the start of May, our music students attended a weekend camp at Ern Halliday in Hillarys as part of their preparation for our tour to Melbourne during the next school holidays. This camp provided an invaluable opportunity for our students to focus purely on their musical skills as a group for an extended period together. None of this would have be possible without the willingness of staff to give up their weekend to enable this experience for our students. This commitment reflects the strong culture of our College and the genuine care our staff have for our students and their musical development, both individually and as a group. Students remember these experiences for years to come, and our staff play a significant role in making these opportunities both enjoyable and memorable.

My sincere thanks go to Mrs Shellie Rodriguez, our Leader of Learning – Arts, Mr Adam Thorne, our Leader of Learning – English, Ms Samantha Ashman, our Director of Music, Mrs Heidi Lake, Ms Olivia Van Wyk, Mr Oliver Kellow and Mr Brock Jasiorowski for so willingly giving up their time to support our students with this experience.

Thank you once again for your outstanding contribution.
