For young people undertaking a VET course, the pathway from classroom to career can open up exciting opportunities but navigating those options isn’t always straightforward.
Parents and carers play an important role in those conversations. Having a better understanding of VET pathways, apprenticeships, traineeships and emerging career opportunities can help them feel more confident when supporting their young person’s next steps.
That’s why we’re excited to share the From Classroom to Career: Parent Roundtable Series, a free online information series from Programmed by PERSOL designed specifically for parents and carers.
The sessions will cover:
- School-based apprenticeships and traineeships
- Pathways available while students are still at school
- Apprenticeships and traineeships after school
- Emerging industries and workforce opportunities
- How parents and carers can support career conversations at home, without needing to have all the answers
The same session is being offered at three different times to make it easier for busy parents and carers to attend:
📅 22 September | 4:30pm–5:30pm
📅 23 September | 7:30pm–8:30pm
📅 29 September | 12:00pm–1:00pm
If you’re supporting a young person through their VET journey, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the pathways and opportunities available — and how you can support them along the way.
