The Boarding construction project continued to move along in leaps and bounds during Terms 1 and 2. Some of the major structural milestones reached include closing off the ground floor internal walls, adding the 1st floor internal and external walls, the 1st floor roof, and external painting and brickwork.
Work has now commenced on internal finishing, installation of cabinetry, and closing off the first-floor internal walls. The project remains on track for completion early in Term 3.
New Gym Floor
Over the Term 1 break, the College completed a major upgrade of the Gym, including the installation of a brand new floor. The space was also refreshed with new posts and footings, upgraded hoops, and new nets for netball, volleyball and badminton, along with four new basketball backboards.
The new gym floor now proudly features the College crest and La Salle College name, adding to the sense of pride in the space.
The project consisted of installation of 1190m2 (Elite X II) – 19mm Court Tiles provided and installed by Dream Courts, who won the tender to provide the new Gym floor following a review by the Sports department and the Facilities team at La Salle College.
Dream Courts have supplied event courts with Footlocker, Adidas, Puma, the NBL and 3 X 3 Hustle, through to community courts with local councils. They have also recently installed the newest and most advanced NBL flooring with the recent upgrade at the WIN Entertainment Centre for the Illawarra Hawks.
