Last week (Wednesday 5 August) the College held its Academic Assembly celebrating the outstanding achievements, leadership and talents of students during Semester One.
Awards were presented to students who demonstrated academic excellence, outstanding application and exemplary behaviour. College Colours were also awarded to students recognised for their achievements in Academic, Faith & Service, Leadership, Sport and Culture. Congratulations to all students who received awards. Our Leaders of Wellbeing also presented Excellence Commendation Awards to students from each year group who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to learning service and College values.
Class of 2007 alumna Tara Simich, founder of The Jungle Body and Mermade Hair spoke to students about her time as College Captain, and her early indication of the leadership, determination, and character that would become prominent in her career. Tara shared her inspiring journey from La Salle student to internationally successful entrepreneur encouraging our students to pursue their goals with fearlessness, resilience and determination.
Our school community also celebrated the success of our students in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, including a wonderful performance by the Clarinet Ensemble and recognised the outstanding achievements of our Mock Trial team as they prepare for the state semi-finals this week.
Sporting successes from Term 2 were also acknowledged with congratulations going to the following teams:
- NEAS Senior Girls Soccer team Gran Final Winners
- NEAS Junior and Senior Netball teams Grand Final Winners
- ACC Senior Boys Netball team Grand Final Winners
Following the Assembly, we were delighted to invite the parents and families of our award recipients to join us for a special morning tea to celebrate their achievements together.
