Principal’s Message

10 August 2026

As we move further through Term 3, I continue to be impressed by the diligence, maturity and sense of purpose demonstrated by our students and the commitment and passion of our staff. This has already been a productive start to the semester, with several important initiatives highlighting the strength of our College community and our shared focus on excellence.

Year 10 Course Counselling

One of the highlights of recent weeks has been the course counselling process for our Year 10 students. It was very pleasing to witness the thoughtful and mature approach our students took as they considered their pathways into their senior years at La Salle College. These conversations are significant milestones in every student’s educational journey, requiring careful reflection on strengths, interests and future aspirations. Our students and their families engaged in rich conversations with members of our Senior Leadership Team throughout the process, asking insightful questions and making well-informed decisions about their courses and pathways. I thank our staff and families for the guidance and support they provided during this period of discernment, ensuring our students are well positioned for success in upper school commencing in 2027.

Strategic Planning 2027-2029

At the beginning of the school term, all staff participated in a Professional Development Day centred on the continued development of our new Strategic Plan, to be implemented for the start of 2027. The day provided an excellent opportunity for staff to reflect on our current practices, identify future priorities and contribute valuable ideas that will shape the direction of La Salle College over the coming years. The enthusiasm, professionalism and collaborative spirit displayed throughout the day reinforced the collective commitment of our staff to providing the very best educational experience for our students. As we continue this important work, the College is also committed to ensuring that student voice informs our planning as a Christ centred, child focused school. In the coming weeks, our Student Leadership Council will have the opportunity to provide feedback and contribute their ideas. The voice of our students is an essential component of our new strategic plan, and we look forward to hearing their insights as we shape the future of our College together.

Academic Excellence Assembly

Our recent College assembly provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate academic excellence at the school. Recognising students who consistently demonstrate diligence, perseverance and high achievement is an important part of fostering a culture where learning is valued and celebrated. While awards acknowledge outstanding academic results, they also recognise the dedication, resilience and commitment that underpin success. Congratulations to all students who were recognised at the assembly. Their achievements are a source of pride for our entire College community and serve as an inspiration to their peers to always strive for their personal best.

Catholic Performing Arts Festival

I would like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our students who recently represented La Salle College at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival. Our students demonstrated remarkable talent, confidence and professionalism.

More importantly, they represented our College with humility, respect and enthusiasm, qualities that reflect the values we seek to nurture in every young person. We are incredibly proud of the way they all embraced the opportunity to perform and support one another throughout the festival. Well done to everyone!

Events such as these are only possible because of the extraordinary commitment of our staff. I extend my sincere appreciation to all those staff members who willingly gave their time to rehearse, mentor, accompany and encourage our students, regularly after the school bell had sounded for the end of the day. Their passion, expertise and dedication create opportunities that enrich the lives of our students and allow them to develop their gifts. Thank you for the care and generosity you continue to show in supporting our young people.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we continue to create a learning environment where every student is encouraged to grow, achieve and contribute positively to our vibrant College community.
