This committee will work with the Principal to seek guidance as to the school’s funding priorities. The P&F will be provided with a ‘priority list’ to determine which projects the P&F can assist. Focus areas and planning for 2022 includes:

Touching Hearts

As the La Salle College students work towards “touching the hearts” of the wider community, it is the task of this committee to plan ways in which the P&F can care for and nurture the families within our school.

Guest speakers

Organise relevant and engaging speakers. Decision making and planning in this space may require a survey of Staff, Teacher, Parent and Student interests.

 Inclusive community

Our Lasallian school is a united community where diversity is respected and where everyone finds a place. Individuals within the school community recognise and accept each other’s strengths and limitations. The above-mentioned Lasallian core principle is expressed through the ideal: “The Lasallian Family.”

Welcoming new families

The Committee will plan social gatherings and events to promote and put into practise the Lasallian core principle above.

Each Sub-Committee Lead will:
  • Plan to meet regularly with sub-committee colleagues
  • Be prepared to report at P&F General Meetings
  • Attend all meetings (or nominate a representative to attend and report

Focus areas and planning for 2022:

Concern for the Poor and Social Justice

A Lasallian school calls its members to an awareness of the poor and victims of injustice and responds to their needs through programs of community service, advocacy, and justice education.

Parish

Work in collaboration with local Parishes to plan events and provide support to our wider community. This task of the Community Spirit Sub-Committee lends itself toward practising the core Lasallian principle and ideal: “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve.”

Hospitality

Support the College community through volunteering to provide catering at events and planned social gatherings.

Extracurricular Support

Provide assistance to Teachers and support to our children through volunteering at sporting and other extracurricular events. This may include Music Nights, Musical Productions, Art Exhibitions and Sporting Events.

Grounds Care

Organise and facilitate, in collaboration with the Family Support Sub-Committee annual or bi-annual “busy bees” in an effort to bring our wider college community together and promote a sense of true Community Spirit.
